Scott Brooks
Scott is your wealth manager, investment adviser representative, financial advisor, and investment professional. He is your point of contact to discuss, plan, and design your investment portfolio. Scott is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine (B.A. Economics and Minor in Business Management, 1996) and a local graduate of San Clemente High School (1992). He is securities licensed Series 7 Financial Advisor, Series 24 Registered Principal, Series 66 Investment Advisor Representative, and is a graduate of the Dorsey Wright & Associates Advanced Institute of Point & Figure. He is registered and has clients in more than 30 states. Mr. Brooks began his career in 1994 during the early growth stages of the small independent broker-dealer, Brookstreet Securities. Working in the various departments of Agency Trading, Investment Banking, Corporate Accounting, Business Development, and Member Services, he achieved an Executive Vice President position, responsible for the growth and development of the firm to 700+ Financial Advisors, 8 billion in assets, and 150 million in annual revenue. During his tenure, he had the good fortune to evaluate the many Advisors’ business practices with their investor- clients. As a result, Gold Coast Financial Group was designed with a ‘best practices’ blueprint, always putting the client needs first and foremost. Throughout his career, Mr. Brooks has been actively involved in the financial markets, constructing and managing portfolios for his investor-clients. The “tested in the trenches” experience has given him extensive knowledge of the vast array of investment opportunities and vehicles available to investors. Julie is partnered with Scott for the ancillary aspects of your wealth management. Beyond the investments, your wealth management also includes wealth enhancement (tax mitigation), effective wealth transfer, wealth protection, and potential charitable giving. With Julie’s estate planning expertise, her role in establishing the best account types and protection for your situation could be more important than the investment portfolio. Ms. Mains is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (B.A. Political Science 1991) and received her Juris Doctorate, cum laude from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 1996. She was admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois in 1996 and the State of California in 1997. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Mains lived in Vienna, Austria for one year and worked for the United Nations, International Atomic Energy Agency, investigating the trafficking of nuclear bomb components. Following, Ms. Mains lived in London, England for one year and worked as an assistant to Lord Bridgeman, House of Lords, Parliament. During law school (1993-96), Ms. Mains was a member of the Loyola Law Journal and a summer associate at the firm of Altheimer & Gray in Chicago, Illinois. She also clerked for Judge Robert Ginsberg of the Bankruptcy Court and was a member of the Appellate Moot Court Team, which competed in London & Ontario, Canada. In addition, Ms. Mains spent a summer during law school studying European Community law in Rome, Italy at Loyola’s Rome Campus. After Ms. Mains graduated from law school, she returned to her home state of California and worked for the law firm of Bennett &Welch, San Francisco assisting in trial preparation for a sexual harassment case pending in Superior Court, Alameda County.
